Michelle Kainen's path to the practice of law was different than most.  She began her professional career as a social worker, investigating child abuse for the State of Vermont.  She also provided crisis mental health services and outpatient counseling for menthal health agencies in Vermont and New Hampshire.

In 2002 Michelle completed Vermont's Four Year Law Office Study program and became admitted to practice law in 2003.  In 2008 she obtained a Master's Degree in Accounting (MSA) with an emphasis in taxation.

Michelle is always striving to learn new and more innovative ways to serve her clients.  In 2007 she completed the famed Max Gardner's Bankruptcy Bootcamp.  In 2008 she completed the Depositions Skills and Trial Advocacy courses through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.  Each year she attends national conferences to continue to hone her skills.

She currently serves as the Chairperson for the Bankruptcy Section of the Vermont Bar Association and often mentors new lawyers.  Several times each year she conducts educational programs for other attorneys.  She has a successful trial record and never backs away from a challenge.
